ANNUAL
DUES ARE DUE
Happy New Year everybody! Be sure to get
your dues mailed in ASAP so that we can renew our USA Water Ski membership.
We need this membership in order to ski at South Lake Ski Ranch.
Incidentally, now is a good time to renew your own
USA Water Ski membership
if you have not already done so.
2013 SKI DATES
POSTED

Calendar button to see the 2013 dates for our
South Lake Ski Ranch and Kings River ski trips.
THE
KINGS RIVER
IS
MOSTLY DRY NEAR RIVERLAND
When the flow from
Pine Flat Dam is reduced in the fall, water levels drop in front of Riverland
and this year the river is mostly dry.
Here are some images taken in
November and December 2012.
KINGS RIVER BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Caltrans is adding a
third lane in each direction to SR 99 through Kingsburg. This requires
major construction on the Kings River Bridge and the river is closed to
navigation under the bridge.
Here are some
images taken in May 2012.
SOUTH LAKE SKI RANCH
We go to South Lake Ski Ranch, a private water-ski lake in the
Bakersfield area, once a month from May through October. The lake has a
slalom course and mini-course, a wakeboard jump and a wakeboard rail. This is
great place to go for perfect water, all day long. Click on the
Calendar button to see all the dates.
KINGS RIVER
We ski on the Kings River near Kingsburg (20 miles south of Fresno on
Hwy 99) in the summer. Normally we have three five-day trips, Friday through
Tuesday, during the summer. We ski at Riverland Resort. Some members
stay in RV's at the resort, others stay in motels in Kingsburg. On these
trips, you can come in on Friday or Saturday and ski the weekend, come in on
Sunday for the good weekday water on Monday and Tuesday, stay for all five days,
or whatever suits your schedule.
The area we ski in is adjacent to
California Highway 99. CalTrans is widening the highway between Goshen and
Kingsburg, and that includes the Kings River Bridge.
Construction on the
bridge expansion has started and there are some photos here that show how they
are going about it.
USA WATER SKI MEMBERSHIP

Supporting Member in order to ski with us This is to insure that all skiers carry sufficient liability insurance to meet the lake owners' requirements. If you register on-line, your registration is effective immediately. We verify memberships with USA Water Ski prior to
