WELCOME
to the 30th year of water skiing with the Lake Piru Water Ski Club.
We have a great schedule of ski trips planned beginning on May 30, 2008
to South Lake Ski Ranch. Be sure to click on the

2008 schedule.
REVISED DATES FOR
SOUTH LAKE SKI RANCH
The lake is not longer available to us on Fridays, so we moved all
of our dates up by one day to the Thursday before. Some of the
families who have leased lots on South Lake have expressed a desire to
have the lake to themselves on summer Fridays and that is certainly
their privilege. The lake owner has agreed that our coming in on
Thursdays should not present a conflict, hence the date changes.

USA WATER SKI
MEMBERSHIP
THIS IS IMPORTANT!
You must be a
registered USA Water Ski Active
Member in order to ski with us at the South Lake Ski Ranch. This
is to insure that all skiers carry sufficient liability insurance to
meet the lake owners' requirements. If you
register on-line, your
registration is effective immediately. We will be verifying memberships
with USA Water Ski prior to our first trip to South Lake in May.
KINGS RIVER WATER
LEVELS
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers confirms that the Sierra snow pack is
already sufficient to fill Pine Flat Reservoir this year. This
insures that there will be plenty of water flowing past the People's
Weir in the lower Kings River for us to ski on. Riverland took
advantage of a dry river bottom this winter to bulldoze some sand from
the river bottom and build up the shore near the downstream end of goat
island. We don't know yet if this will deepen the ski channel, but we
hope so!

We ski on
public waterways and private ski lakes throughout Southern and Central
California. Our members come from all walks of life and represent a
broad cross section of water ski skills. If you like to have fun skiing, then
you will have fun here. It doesn't matter if you are an experienced
three event competitor, a show skier, a just- for- the- fun- of-it skier, or
are just getting started, this is the club for you in Southern
California!
